I offer digital Landscape Photography tuition in the form of full-day or half-day workshops.

The tuition is on a 'one-to-one' basis or for a maximum of two persons if you would prefer to learn with a friend, colleague or partner. The reason for this is that the workshop is delivered around you. In other words, you tell me what you would like to achieve and I will deliver a tailor made workshop.

My approach to landscape photography is simple and it starts with planning and exploring locations and searching out compositions. Camera settings are worked out, images taken and then reviewed. I avoid being trigger happy, preferring a more measured approach rather than filling a memory card in a few hours. This gives me time to take in my surroundings and adapt as conditions change. It also means I don't have hundreds of files to edit later. The results are the images on my website, commissions from Outdoor Photography magazine, as well as prints displayed in galleries and in exhibitions throughout Scotland.

Workshops will be relaxed, at your pace and will be fun and challenging too. Based on a series of practical lessons out in the field, you will use your own camera equipment under my guidance and encouragement to learn new skills. By the end of the workshop you will have the confidence to be working things through on your own. I cannot guarantee the weather, but if it is on our side, and an opportunity presents itself which proves irresistible, then the chances are you will bag some great images too.

Workshop modules
Being a bespoke package means you decide what you would like to learn during the workshop.
The most requested topics are the following:
Front to back sharpness (or maximising depth of field)
Correct exposure, exposure compensation and using the histogram
Using graduated neutral density filters
Using long exposure filters
The common denominator for the above is you taking control of your camera

What will it cost

Half day workshop (3 1/2 hrs tuition)
Flat fee for each 1/2 day - £135.00

Prices are based on providing tuition within 50 miles (one-way) of my home in western Fife.
Within 50 miles of my home means I can cover anywhere in Fife (or anywhere along the Firth of Forth to North Berwick, East Lothian), southward to The Pentland Hills, westward to The Trossachs and the eastern side of Loch Lomond and northward to Dunkeld, Perthshire. Plenty of good quality destinations that offer significant photographic opportunities.

Flat fee for full day - £300.00 with each additional day at my normal rate.
